And sad is exactly what it is. A sad attempt to be better than the DCC. I think it's funny how some people have to go to lengths like this to try and get out of the DCC's shadow. The truth is I would much rather see the DCC's in lingerie than the Eacles cheerleaders because half of the girls on that team are not pretty but rather trashy.

You would think upon first glance that this is just another DVD of the making of another calander. Big whoop right I mean you could have any other calander in the World instead of the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders calander right? But the question is: what exactly is it? On one hand, it is nothing like the rest of the league's teams do: the other teams with cheerleaders, if they have a calander at all, do a swimsuit one. But on the other hand, it's not a playboy calander either, but a few false moves by the lovely Philly girls and it could very well have been.
So...what exactly is it you ask?
By the standards of their fellow cheerleaders from around the league (yes, this includes YOU DCC) it is far and away a cutting edge idea and a very powerful weapon of mass sex appeal. This DVD goes into what made the calander that good and what it took for them girls to get to where they are. You would think that making a cheerleading team would be a non-exciting event, but you clearly haven't seen the Eagles Cheerleading tryouts: there is, and rightfully so, a lot of attention and spotlights shinning on all the pretty ladies trying out. It even takes a break from all the cheerleader close ups for the calander and shows the girls at the annual Del Ray Beach tournament against the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders (and as much as I like you Philly girls, please take it easier on my Dolphins!) But that is promptly followed by the reason you bought this DVD (right?) and that is to see just how much FUN that man behind the camera (Steve someone rather) has in capturing these ladies at there best.
Additionally, extra footage includes fullcut photos of the girls in there uniforms entitled "Cheerleading Trading Cards," a near photo op collage of images of the girls, and the "Vignettes" where you can choose one of 38 or have all of them run in a row. Vignettes show the girls from various photos and doing all there poses that didn't make the final production: this is about 20 minutes in length.
Overall, this DVD is only 47 minutes long, but it will turn out to be the best DVD purchase you ever made because of the cinematic nature, the beautiful resort they chose, and of course the lovely ladies themselves. It is very interesting to see just how much work and how much time it takes to get these girls ready for there shoot. But at the end of it all, I am pretty sure that Barbara Zaun (director of the squad) and Steve and his crew said something like, "It might have been a crazy and maddenening five days, but it was sure worth it."
Come to think of it...it must be if they sold out and had to re-print the past three years.
One thing I wanted to point out however now that the beef of the review is done: I got a laugh because some preacher or whatever in Philly wanted Eagles Coach Andy Reid (of all people) to stop the making of this calander. Three problems with that one:
1. Andy has no control over the squad. Try the Eagles owner or Ms. Zaun herself.
2. I don't see this guy making a fuss over actual pornography available to the same demographic as this.
3. The 1st admendment is, if I am not mistaken, still active today: one of them the right to free speech. While he has the right to religion (as also seen under the 1st admendment) the girls are not stepping outside of their boundries either.
I just found that very amusing!
One last word: buy this DVD! Even if you aren't a fan of the Eagles but a memeber of the male demographic, then this one is for you!
